Hope for Maddie's Family
Christmas is usually Maddie's favorite time of year. But this year, she hung battery powered lights from rearview mirror of their car stockings from the air vents - trying to make a temporary refuge feel like home.
Earlier this year, Maddie's father lost his job while struggling with service-related PTSD. Without income, the family lost their home in rural Southeast Kansas and had no choice but to live in their car while he searched for work.
At their lowest point, Maddie's father reached out to the Catholic Charities Pittsburg Office. There, he found compassionate support and a path toward stability and dignity.
